about me
when people ask me how long i've been in the jewelry business my answer is “most all of my life”. my dad was a jewelry salesman. when i was young i would go out on calls with him to various jewelry stores around connecticut when i had a day off from school...
i have been goldsmithing for 41years. in 1979 i somehow got my foot in the door of a well respected jewelry store in hartford, where they did jewelry repair and custom work for the wholesale and retail trade. my boss was the true definition of a gentleman and a very good and patient teacher...he gave me so much independence to learn, especially from my mistakes...believe me, i learned from my mistakes! in 1993 the boss decided to retire and close the business. the thought of going to work for someone else did not thrill me, so i screwed up my courage and opened my own goldsmith shop, in hartford, in february of 1993, where i did primarily wholesale repairs and custom work to the trade. with a desire to have more of a retail business and work closer to home, i started looking for a new space...it took a couple of years...finally, in 2007 i found the sweet little spot that i was in for over 12 1/2 years.
i have since moved a new location, about 1 mile from the old shop, at riverdale farms shopping center.
my original vision for my shop was for it to be friendly, warm, open and inviting...
with complete transparency...i like to think i have achieved that...
my dad told me “you can sell anyone something once, however, it's excellent service that will keep people coming back”. i strive to provide my customers the best work and advice...with honesty, integrity, value & delighted satisfaction. the trust that is put in my hands to work on your treasures keeps me humble.
